The Full-Stack Creative
Artist · Builder · Storyteller · Explorer
I'm Kirsten Jooste, a South African full-stack creative with a passion for turning ideas into reality. So what exactly is a full-stack creative? In short; it means being involved in every stage of the creative process; from the first conversation and rough concept, through to design, production, implementation, and final delivery.
Spanning two decades, I've built a diverse skillset which encompasses art, illustration, photography, design, branding, signage, community-building, content creation, creative technology, and experimental projects. It sounds like a lot, but rather than specializing in a single discipline, I've developed the ability to connect them, which allows me to approach client projects from multiple perspectives and see them through from start to finish.
Fox & Line is where those experiences intersect. It's a collection of the work, ideas, projects, and explorations that have shaped my creative journey, each one contributing to a broader understanding of how creativity can move from imagination and into the real world.
Creating has always been my starting point. Whether through traditional artwork, illustration, or digital experiments, making things is how I process ideas and explore the world around me.
Some of my most rewarding work has involved creating opportunities for other creatives by building spaces where creativity can thrive and connections form naturally.
Creativity doesn't stop at making art. Over the years I've worked across design, photography, branding, signage, website development and digital media, helping ideas take shape and communicate clearly through visual storytelling.
Curiosity drives everything I do. I'm particularly interested in emerging technologies, AI, and how new tools can expand what creators are capable of achieving.
Chapters that have shaped the journey; some ongoing, others complete, but all meaningful.
I've built and grown a niche Artist Trading Card (ATC) community centered around creativity, collaboration, and small-format art. Through educational resources, community engagement, and creative challenges, the initiative introduced artists to the world of ATCs and encouraged participation in a global movement built around exchanging original miniature artworks.
Between 2010 and 2015, I worked extensively as a corporate events photographer, documenting conferences, corporate functions, activations, live events and brand launches. Clients included LG China, Prescient Investments, SARS, Pick n Pay, Ultimate X and others; requiring a blend of technical skill, adaptability, and visual storytelling in fast-paced environments.
Exploring how emerging AI tools can support creative work, streamline repetitive tasks, generate ideas, and expand what individuals and small teams are capable of achieving. Current areas of interest include content creation, workflow design, creative problem solving, and AI-assisted systems.
Long before creative technology became part of my world, I was drawing. Over the years that curiosity has evolved into hand-drawn line artwork, digital illustration and, more recently, woodworking projects that explore craftsmanship in a physical form. While the mediums may differ, they're all connected by the same fascination: taking an idea that exists only in the imagination and bringing it into the real world.
Designing and producing storefront and environmental branding that helps businesses communicate clearly in physical spaces. Recent projects include signage and vinyl installations for Breitling, The Kalk Bay Co-Op, Kumon and Rocking Connect.
I build and deploy modern, responsive websites for clients, taking projects from concept through to launch. Using tools like WordPress for flexible content management, while combining Cursor, Claude, and Vercel to design, develop, and ship fast, high-performance sites, my focus is on clean build quality, smooth user experience, and making it easy for clients to manage their own content after handover.
While Fox & Line is primarily a reflection of my creative journey, I'm always open to interesting conversations, collaborations, and opportunities. Whether you're looking for creative insight, visual work, community-focused thinking, or educational content, I'd love to hear from you.
